Pssssssst...

DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
NOW.
ALL OF IT.

It's raining.

There's nothing good on TV.  I checked.

Here are your choices:  (A) help your parents or guardians scrubbing the bathroom OR (B) do your homework.  Now, while I know the adults will go for Option A (as would I), they really want you to do Option B (because if you do, and you graduate, and you get a really good job, they can retire and let YOU take care of THEM for a change.  Trust me.  Ask my parents.)

Turn off those stupid phones and whatever else you have shoved into your ears and DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

Oh...and have a nice day.
:)

This is REVIEW!  If you can't find the information necessary on the page numbers provided in the Prentice Hall review book provided you need to do one of the following: use your prior knowledge (it is likely you already know the answer), go to your 9th grade notes, 10th grade notes, the Internet, review materials from class, Quizlet.com, Regentsprep.org, or a different review book.  Not answering a question is unacceptable since this information has all been covered at some point in the last two years.

INCOMPLETE WORK WILL EARN A GRADE OF ZERO FOR THE ENTIRE ASSIGNMENT.  I have provided page numbers whenever possible.  Work that shows little to no effort will not earn any credit.  Work not in proper format will not earn credit.  Do your work, take care to do it properly, and help yourself work toward a successful Regents score on June 13th!

There is no such thing as “late work” during Regents Review.  Turn it in by the date due or lose all credit on that assignment.  You are out of time for excuses!!!!!!

·         Answers are usually not “word for word,” and since I read your work, you’ll want to be sure you answer the actual question asked, not just blindly copy something because it has the same name or heading.

Parents & Guardians: Review Attendance List

The following students attended Global Regents Review today with me from 2:10 - 5:15 PM:

Lachana Tuten
Emmanuel Mejia
Patrick Hansen
Karla Maldonado
Rolanda Clerville
Alyssa Epstein
Ilsia Bonilla
Darrell Dadzie
Carlos Vargas
Tiffany Cedeno
Bianca Saldana
Vanessa Castro
Joel Blanco

The following students attended US History Regents Review today with me from 2:10 - 5:15 PM:

Diana Pena

I hope studying my own flash cards in pairs helped them start to remember more content to help them be successful on their Regents.

Parents/Guardians - if your student says they were at review today but are not listed above, they were not there.

Students were given pizza to tide them over until dinner (or to serve as their dinner if they missed out because they were at review.)

Next Friday's review is also from 2:10 - 5:15 PM.  Students must be in class every day, on time, prepared, and have all HW done as directed to sign up.  Sign up sheets go up Monday and the deadline to sign up is Wednesday.  If students are not there, late, unprepared, or not dong their HW as directed they are not doing their part to pass, which is why they cannot come to these reviews.

Every Global student can attend review on M-Th-Fr in 2715 with Mr. Formato from 2-3 PM.

US History: READ ME!

As discussed in class:
- If you got work back that was not done properly, you can turn it in BEFORE 1st PERIOD TOMORROW.  I am in my classroom by 6:45.  Putting it in my mailbox does not count.
- If I have the work, now in proper format, before 1st period I will re-grade it for credit.
- If you didn't do it to being with, this message does not apply to you.

How do you know if it has to be redone?
If your work has a "check mark," it's fine.  You got credit.

If there are "X's" over words, if it says "format," if it say something like "Why, on day 165, do I have to tell you for the 165th time how I expect the work to be done?!" - you need to re-do the work.  Or not.  You can take the zero if you want.  Life is about choices & learning to deal with the consequences.  :)

IF, and only IF, I have that work done and in my grubby little paws BEFORE 1st period tomorrow (Friday, 5/17), you may attend review tomorrow.  And trust me, most of you really, really need it.  2-5:30, being a note if you are walking home, no one leaves before the end.  I will have 5:30 bus passes.  And maybe pizza.  Maybe.  It's strictly BYO drink.

Have a great night...
Mrs. Ramo
(who should really not be referred to as "Smalls," by the way...) :) :)

Special Messages:
Nina - yes, you have until Monday if you are called in "legally absent"y a parent before the end of the day.  If it's easier and Mom will be too busy to call, Mom can send me an email tonight to the school email address and I will forward it to attendance for her.  Get the cards you miss from someone!

Ashley & Keishan - My guess is you have not read the cards one bit since you didn't put it together that you can use them for the HW. :(  You can sign up for review if, by tomorrow morning, I have (1) the work due tomorrow and (2) a second assignment of your choice.

A message to all students

If you have missed homework, were late, were absent, were unprepared, have not turned in your textbook...your progress report reflects that.  Your current grade is failing, so your progress report says "currently failing; in danger of failing for the year; average below 50; missing homework," and what ever attendance indicator best matches you (unprepared, cuts, late, absent.)

I warned you about this happening more than 2 weeks ago.

There are 15 classes left, and since I'm not taking any late work or doing make ups (since it's all class participation), some of you are well into the failure hole.  Remember, too, that I can give you a ZERO for the 4th marking period on your report card, the lowest grade is no longer a "50."  A LOT of you have actual zero's as your current average, and if that's what you gave me to report, that's what I'm reporting.

Pass or not, work or not, you have to earn your degree, not me.

Have a good night.

Global I: FINAL WARNING

All Global I students are expected to have 1-2 packs of 3x5 index cards with them in class tomorrow.

You will be considered unprepared & marked accordingly if you show up with them again.

This message doe snot apply to the 3 people out of 2 classes who showed up prepared today.  However, you, too, will be marked unprepared if you are without index cards for class from now own.

In addition, those of you still missing textbooks - turn it in or pay for it.  Enough is enough.
