US History: Geography Review Sheet is posted!

The review sheet for your upcoming Geography quiz/test has just been posted on Quizlet.com.  It will be an "unannounced quiz" so the earlier you start to study the better off you'll be!

The deadline to sign up has now expired, so everyone should be on it.

Happy studying!

Proper heading or NO Extra Credit!

If you decide to do the extra credit, the heading on your paper must look like this:

Your name (first & last)                                                                        Mrs. Ramo
Period (add yours)                                                                                 (Course Subject)

                                                    Extra Credit due 9/16
(skip a line, start your assignment)

If you decide not to follow these instructions I will equally decide not to grade your work...so do it right!

US History Extra Credit: Colonial History Lesson

Want some extra credit?  Using only this video as a basis for your work, write a 2-3 page paper colonial history.  This is due no later than Monday, 9/16, at the beginning of class.  It must be handwritten and remember...if you copy from somewhere (or just copy the words from the video) I'll know!  Use your own words based on what you've learned!

Global II Extra Credit: Interview with Galileo

Want some extra credit?  Using only this video as a basis for your work, write a 1-2 page paper on Galileo, his life, and his ideas.  This is due no later than Monday, 9/16, at the beginning of class.  It must be handwritten and remember...if you copy from somewhere (or just copy the words from the video) I'll know!  Use your own words based on what you've learned!

I hope you are outside enjoying the beautiful weather!!!!

One of your fellow students informed me that there was a problem getting on to Quizlet last night.  I have no reason to doubt her, so I am extending the deadline through TODAY, Saturday, 9/14.  I will go back into Quizlet at 8 PM tonight and approve anyone listed at that time.  So, if you had an issue with it last night - or your just lucky that someone who didn't slack off had an issue so you got an extra day - now is you're chance.

Remember, it is required that you sign up & "apply for" acceptance into your course.  See earlier posts if you have questions about where to go or what to do.

Now get outside & enjoy this weather!

Online textbook links!

GLOBAL STUDENTS:
Here is a link to an online version of your textbook:
http://sharepoint.chiles.leon.k12.fl.us/mcneilt/Textbook%20for%20World%20History/Forms/AllItems.aspx
Simply go down to the chapter we're on, click on the left-hand folder, and you will see the sections listed.

U.S. HISTORY STUDENTS:
Here is a link to an online version of your textbook:
http://www.mrlocke.com/US_History/book.html
Simply click on the Chapter link, the sections will be listed.

Use this for your upcoming homework assignments (questions, vocabulary, maps, etc.)  We will likely not give out textbooks until the end of September.  If you don't want a book you are welcome to use the online versions instead - what ever is easier for you.  Last year we ran out of textbooks and since we have more kids the same thing is likely to happen.  If so, you will have to bring your books back & forth every day to class.

Yes, that's right.  Every. Single. Day.

Keep your fingers crossed.  It helps if you opt for the online book - the fewer books we give out in the HS, the more we have for use in the classroom.  Until we have to make a decision like that, use this.  It's all you have besides your class notes & handouts!

133 Grades of Zero...

...are going in my gradebook tomorrow night at this point.  Why?  Because only 17 of you have signed up for Quizlet.com out of 150.  I told you that signing up by Friday afternoon was a test grade and I meant it.

If you are one of the 133 who haven't done it yet...do it now.  It is not blocked on the school computers so there is no excuse.  You have had a full week to get it done.

After 9 PM tomorrow night you will (1) have a zero that will not be removed and (2) still have to sign up for the site since that's where all of your test review sheets are going.

Do it now.
All classes are facing tests & quizzes next week!
