Extra Credit Opportunity!!

EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY!!!!

If you have not been late to class, have not had a behavioral issue in class, have not been late to class, and have not cut class - you are eligible to stay for extra credit this Friday from 2:00-2:50 PM.  I only need three people, and you will filing papers in folders for me.

Extra credit goes toward boosting your marking period average.

The first three students to send me a message IN ENGRADE will get the spots.  Please do not sign up if you cannot stay as this will effect your future eligibility for this type of credit.

Deadline to sign up is Thursday, 5 PM.
Please be sure to check with your parents before signing up!

Updates: ALL Students!

Here are some updates that apply to everyone:

1.  Global II NEEDS PENCILS tomorrow.  Your pre-assessment will be at the beginning of class, so please be prepared & on time.  I am counting timely attendance & being prepared as a test grade.  That's an EASY 100.  The pre-assessment itself will not be graded or count in your average in any way.  This will be given after your vocabulary quiz.

2.  US HISTORY does NOT need pencils after all.  You will NOT be tested.

3.  Since your tests (both courses) were originally scheduled for tomorrow you current HW packets "expire" after tonight.  Therefore, I will post your additional assignments here for the next week.  Please be sure to check daily to see the assignments & due dates.

4.  If you are in US History & absent today, please be sure to get the 6 handouts you missed in class.  5 are HW due staring Friday.  1 you need for class tomorrow.

I saw this & thought many of you could appreciate the message (either of them):

Good Morning :)

Eat Local Grown

I hope you pick the latter for yourselves.
See you Wednesday!

Another Power Point site to try!

Thanks to Justine N. for pointing out this site for mobile devices:

Polaris Office

It has free power point readers for phones, tablets, and other assorted items.  If you are having issues with reading power points in Engrade, try this!  (Google it and see if it will work for what you have at home!)

Thanks Justine!!

PENCILS NEEDED FOR CLASS

Yes, you read correctly - pencils.

You will be having pre-assessments within the next week, and the scantron used by the District requires a PENCIL.  You are required to take the exam...so be sure to have one with you for the next week.  I'll let you know which day the test will be when I figure it out.

Remember, this is not a study-for-it test.  Nothing to stress out over and the only thing that will count is (1) if you are in class & (2) if you brought a pencil.  THAT will be your test grade.

All Classes: Test Date Change

Your exam scheduled for 11/8/13 will be moved to 11/15/13.

You are responsible for checking this blog for additional homework that will be due once your current homework packet expires.  No new packet will be handed out for the current chapter.

Parents & Guardians: Please Read!!

Hello Parents & Guardians!

I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!  To make the morning go smoothly, I wanted to remind you of some important things:

1.  I don't have your student's grades in the classroom since we no longer have access to Engrade in the building.  Your student was given an access code to Engrade in September.  This is the same code I spoke of at Meet the Teacher night.  I hope that your student gave you this code and you have been monitoring his/her grades as they are entered.  Please feel free to print out your student's grades if you have questions.  If your student still has not shared their access code for my online grade book, I will have those available for you to take home.

2.  Appointments are for roughly 15 minutes.  If you made an appointment with me, please be there on time or I will have to give up your spot to a waiting parent, should the situation arise.  "Appointments" start at 7:45 AM (I already have the earlier times booked.)  The last one is at 11:15 AM, with all actual parent meetings ending no later than 11:30 AM, when I am required to move on to the next portion of my day.

3.  I will be in room 2534, my "home base" classroom.

I hope this information is helpful & I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
