HOMEWORK QUIZZES in US HISTORY TOMORROW!

US History students - remember to do your HW!  MANY of you failed the 2nd marking period because of a combination of your lack of effort, class work, homework, and poor quiz/test scores.

You are having a quiz on your homework tomorrow.  In face, you are having TWO quizzes on the homework due tomorrow.  It will be as easy as "copy off yourself" so no actual studying involved - just your work.  Work that is identical to the work of others was clearly copied off someone (or you let someone copy, which is just as bad), so each person will get a zero on the quiz should that happen.

I warned your before regents Week, I'm warning you again...

Extra Credit Updates

The death of my grandmother last night will likely delay the posting of extra credit in all courses.

I will post what I can, when I can, this weekend.  Check back through Sunday night for anything I have added.  There may be more than one opportunity per course.

As a reminder, extra credit means "in addition to my other work."  It does NOT mean "work I can do to make up for the zero I got on the work I failed to turn in."  If you do not do your classwork, homework, or come to school, you are not eligible for extra credit.

US History test closes in 5 hours!

No joke - as stated on your homework sheet, this is a DOUBLE TEST GRADE, it opened on 12/20, and will close before midnight TONIGHT.  I have had no trouble logging into Castle Learning today, and since 10 more people have done the exam since school ended, any problems anyone had are clearly resolved.

Half of you have NOT done or completed the test.  If you plan to fail the marking period, this is a good way to accomplish it.  Since your goal should always be to PASS, with GOOD GRADES, I suggest you get working if you haven;t started/completed the test yet.  You had 14 days, notes, a textbook, and any online source you can think of to help you.

As I said verbally & in writing, there will be no extensions.  Grades from the test go into my grade book tomorrow.  make yours a good one instead of something that looks like a circle.

Castle Learning: US History Ch. 10 HW
The assignment will “open” on 1/3 and “close” on 1/7.  If you fail to complete the work by 1/7 you will receive a score of zero.  If you do not have a Castle Learning Username &/or password you must see someone in the Computer Lab, as instructed for the last several months. Use your notes & textbook to complete the assignment!

Since many of you have stated C.L. is having issues when you use mobile devices to do the work, my suggestion is you do not use those devices to complete this work.
Tuesday, 1/8

“The Americans” textbook online reminder:
activate.classzone.com
Activation Code:  (is on your actual HW packet, not posted online since the District has to pay for that option!)

Pages listed on handouts may not match your textbook.  Look through Chapter 10 & your class notes if this happens!

Don’t want to do homework?  Remember the consequences of your choices:
1.    Get a zero on every assignment you fail to complete (not recommended)
2.    Possible failure of the marking period

US History Students - BEWARE!!!!

If you were in class on the last day before the break, do not mistake that homework pass for something you can use on a TESTYou cannot.  I see just ONE of you has started/completed the Castle Learning Test that is due when we get back from the break.

IF YOU DO NOT DO THE TEST, YOU WILL GET A ZERO.  PERIOD.

HOMEWORK passes are not valid for TESTS.

GET MOVING OR GET A ZERO.  The laziness MUST stop...I would think a look at those averages would have inspired those of you who needed it to work towards passing with just 3 weeks to go in the marking period.  Those of you currently passing may not be after a ZERO is added in for this exam should you not do it/pass it.

NO EXCUSES.
