Dear Parents & Guardians:
Tomorrow in class your student will receive a print-out of the 3rd Marking Period's Engrade report. This is the exact information you are able to view in Engrade so none of it should be a surprise to you, good or bad.
You are required to sign this form and have your student return it to me at the beginning of class on Wednesday, 4/9. It will count as a test grade for the 3rd Marking Period. Student who submit it on time will receive a grade of 100. Students who submit is after that will lose 25 points, and 25 points per day each day after that it is late. This is a very easy test grade of 100 & small way to boost your student's average with only days left to go in the marking period.
For Global, there are homework quizzes & classwork that is not yet entered. For US History, there is the same, but also a quiz & a test (given today & Wednesday, respectively), that are not entered &/or will be counted for the 3rd Marking Period. As a result, the average son the printed sheets are not yet finalized. Final quarter averages may be slightly higher or lower once the remaining work has been given & is entered. Please continue to check Engrade for the most accurate grades.
As I tell students, I don't issue grades - I merely report the grades & work they have turned in to me. Engrade does the math, not me. If your student has failed 2 (or all) marking periods this year there is a very good chance he/she will fail the course for the year as well as the Regents Exam. I encourage you to check your student's homework daily, check the blog to see what is due, and help your student get through the remainder of the school year as successfully as possible. A Regents supply list was posted over the weekend, as soon as I get the paper copies back I will send the same list home with your student.
As always, thank you for helping me help your student be as successful as possible.
~ D. Ramo
