Hopefully you have received the information about Meet the Teacher Night this coming Wednesday, October 9th.
In case you are unfamiliar with the format now used at the HS, you will follow your student's schedule, in order. Once "class" starts as indicated by the bells, we will have roughly 10 minutes to go over important information for you about the course. I will also have the important websites for student use this year as part of my presentation for you. While students have been given this information through my class blog, in handouts, and on the board at school, you may wish to bring pen & paper to copy them for yourself.
This is not a parent-teacher conference. We are not permitted time to discuss any particular student. We can answer general questions about expectations, requirements, the course, and Regents Exams...just not your student in particular. I will have a sign-up for short, individual appointments to discuss your particular student in the classroom (or taped right outside the door) for Election Day, November 5th. If you would like to discuss your student in particular, please feel free to sign up for one of the time slots available on this list. (Please understand that if you are late for your appointment you may not have that full time to discuss your student, may have to wait for an opening later in the morning if the next appointment is taken, or return a different day if no appointments are left.) All appointments are held in my classroom, Sonderling Room 2534.
In the meantime, you can always check your student's progress through Engrade. All students were given access codes to my online grade book almost 2 weeks ago.
I hope this information is helpful, and I look forward to meeting you Wednesday!
(PS - Mom's - wear comfy shoes. It's a BIG building with a lot of walking!)
