US History: Quote "paper" due Monday

In his farewell address (1796), George Washington said the following about political parties: “It serves always to distract the public councils & enfeeble the public administration.  It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies & false alarms; kindles the animosity of one part against another; foments [incites] occasionally riot & insurrection.  It opens the door to foreign influence & corruption.”

Write your reaction to Washington’s thoughts on political parties.  Your response should be at least a full page long but no more than the single sheet of paper in front of you.

Use a regular HW heading on your paper, use "Washington Quote" as your assignment title, and do NOT re-write the question  or the quote.
