US History EXTRA CREDIT...what did you write about?

I'm curious - what 2 foreign policies did you pick to write about?  The Monroe Doctrine or Roosevelt Corollary weren't there (word-for-word), but you were allowed to pick ANY policy, even if not listed.

So while I'm here doing you're averages, post the following for a little extra credit:
  • Which 2 foreign policies to you write about
  • Which 2 topics in the DBQ did you choose? (Dred Scott, Plessy, & Brown were your choices, and you had to pick two of them)
Don't lie, because I'll deduct points form your average when I find out after seeing your tests Friday.

Post a comment telling me about both bullets above with your fist & last name.  You know, if you want some extra credit.  If you don't, ignore this.

  2. Note to everyone - if you wrote about the same things Andrea did you had to say the foreign policy was Manifest Destiny for the War, and the Roosevelt Corollary for the Panama Canal. Remember, too, that "historical circumstances" means "causes," so you had to tell WHY we got involved in each. You also needed to define the foreign policy. Panicking yet? I warned you about the essays. The good news is the DBQ was pretty easy, so if you tanked on the thematic you likely did OK on the DBQ. Don't panic yet...especially you, Diana!!

    1. :) Let me be clear - I think MOST kids did NOT write the actual name of the foreign policy, and what the State requires is how it has to be graded. You can still get a 2 if you didn't put the names but explained the policies (that's MY GUESS at the moment), but probably not a 3 or better if you didn't actually say the name of the policy. If my guess is wrong I'll post Friday afternoon when I get home! I think your essays were long enough to be just fine, and your part 1 scores were not bad at all!

  5. For the thematic I chose to write about the Roosevelt Corollary and neutrality under George Washington. For the DBQ ESSAY I chose to write about Dred Scott and Brown v. Board of Ed.

  6. I wrote about The Monroe Doctrine and I connected it with the Roosevelt Corollary and then I wrote about Nuetrality on the Thematic Essay. For the DBQ Essay I wrote about Plessy and Brown and it was convenient because I was looking at those two cases before I went to the regents.
