This is a little longer than the average video I post for you to watch, but it is a very important part of American history. Listen to it while reading along with the handout I gave you. Answer the following questions while listening, keep the answers in your notes, and bring them with you to class.
1. What is the tone of the speech?
2. While reading paragraphs 2-4, indicate in your notes what was going on in the world during this time period.
3. What words or phrases does Kennedy use to evoke emotions?
4. What groups does Kennedy refer to throughout his speech?
5. What phrases are repeated throughout the speech? Why do you think this was done?
Not from the speech directly:
6. Find 2 "New Frontier" programs. List the name of the program, when it started, what it's goal was, and if it was successful.
Remember: no HW = less Regents review. :(
